Shelley M.Gandara

I am currently residing in Arizona,after being born and raised in North Carolina. As a child growing up I have always been involved in art classes and art shows. At 19, I moved to Arizona, a state that is rich with Native American culture and art. I was born of Native American descent and very much embraced their culture. In the beginning,I was expressing my creativity through making Native American craft work in the form of handcrafted corn husk dolls. My ribbon-winning dolls began selling at Galleries in Scottsdale,Tempe Historical Museum and the Heard Museum shop in Phoenix,Arizona and the Smithsonian Museum shop in New York City.After many years of creating these works of Art,I stop creating them to go to school and I got a degree in Advertising and Graphic design.These days I enjoy painting and use a lot of different mediums. In 2008 for my Art Money,I decided to resurrect the pictures of my old works of Art that were sold . In bringing them into the new with different mediums and creating new works of Art.
